Aurora Maria Murphy (formerly Aurora Watts-Esquibel) is an artist who’s passionate about projects that shed light on unique perspectives, fuse genres, and inspire empathy. She is a Las Vegas-born actor, singer, dancer, and writer with a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts (trained at New Studio on Broadway for musical theatre and Stonestreet Studios for film/TV acting). She is currently playing Bianca in Taming of the Shrew with Nevada Shakespeare Festival. Most recently seen in Eurydice (Little Stone) and References to Salvador Dalí Make Me Hot (Cat) with A Public Fit Theatre Company, as well as The Craft’d: An Unauthorized Musical Parody (The Other Girl) at Majestic Repertory Theatre. Favorite NYU projects include Hair (Dionne) and Polaroid Stories (Philomel). Other New York City credits include the Off-Broadway workshop of Rose’s War (Anna) at Teatro LATEA, and other new musicals at 54 Below, The Duplex, Two River Theater, Royal Family Productions, and BerkleeNYC. Since moving to Las Vegas from NYC in 2021, she has been featured in several commercials and indie films (IMDB). She plays Janey in the new feature film, Sunny Yard, which won the 2026 audience favorite award at the Nevada Women’s Film Festival. Aurora also performed for a year and a half as a resident vocalist in The Venetian Resort’s Italian concert production, Streetmosphere, and can be found singing around the city and worship leading at church.
